WHY ANIMAL CHIROPRACTIC?
“The
Nikki Story”

What makes an established senior chiropractor take a post-graduate
course in Animal Chiropractic?
The answer: Nikki, a 4 year old border collie cross; she
was destined for euthanasia, “to be put down”
after she became suddenly paralyzed in the hind legs, lost
her urine and bowel control. She obviously had a severe disc
problem in her lower spine and was given only a 20% chance
of recovery, in spite of expensive and invasive surgery that
was offered as an option.
Nikki’s
owners were “people-patients” of mine and desperately
asked for any help I could give. Chiropractic care was started
and the rest is history. This loving dog, now age 6 is able
to walk, albeit with some weakness. She has good urinary control
and improving bowel control.
This humbling experience led me to study animal chiropractic
in an official and more complete manner.
I have been and still am a human chiropractor, but I am an
animal lover. The extension of chiropractic to our pets is
a natural and satisfying move for me.
Animal Chiropractic is a profession unique unto itself
